Paul Elliott gave me this proof of Size N existing where N is odd and greater than 5. He has been 'playing' with this task for over 5 years now - he first met it in Year 9 and he has just completed Year 13.Maths300 members can see Paul working on Sphinx puzzles in his early days in the Classroom Contributions section of the Sphinx Lesson (#25).Paul also disproved Sarah Hutchinson's original conjecture that the number of ways of making a prime sphinx will always be a square number.
